MYRNA RICASA GERONIMO
Office Administrator
Myrna Geronimo has extensive experience in support, organization and management. At FKA, Ms. Geronimo is responsible for human resources and accounting, along with other responsibilities. After arriving in the United States in 1971 from the Philippines, she worked in the Information Technology Department of the World Bank for sixteen years. She also established and successfully operated a small retail business for ten years. Ms. Geronimo holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the Philippine College of Commerce in Manila, Philippines where she majored in accounting. Ms. Geronimo speaks fluent English along with her native Pilipino language.
KATRINA KERNODLE-WALSH
Project Manager
As Director of Project Management at FKA, Kernodle-Walsh is responsible for strategic project development, managing content quality of deliverables, as well as for marketing efforts that have included brochures, marketing toolkits, and web-based marketing. Kernodle-Walsh has used her expertise and experience in developing comprehensive campaigns for key clients. In 2005, she led the production and organization of campaign toolkits for the FTA's Transit Watch initiative, developed evacuation and unattended baggage creative materials, and formulated strategies to link transit safety with citizen volunteer groups. Kernodle-Walsh has presented quantitative and qualitative results before various groups including key findings related to Transit Watch. Over a period of five years, Kernodle-Walsh freelanced for Japan's Mainichi Newspaper , developing and writing three series of articles that included her associated graphics and photography in addition to a year-long investigative report. Her articles also have been included in U.S. publications. She began her career in Japan, having been selected by the Japanese Government for the Japan Exchange Teaching Program. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia, where she was graduated with honors.
YUKA YAMANAKA
International Project Manager
With increasing levels of responsibility during more than eight years at FKA, Yuka Yamanaka has managed and conducted numerous research studies on a wide range of topics, including transportation, homeland security, disaster management, economic development and engineering & construction. As an International Project Manager, she has led numerous technical missions for international clients and facilitated many meetings with officials at all levels of government, private sector firms and non-profit organizations. Ms. Yamanaka also had an active role in FTA's Transit Watch initiative in 2003 and 2005-2006. In collaboration with other members of the FKA team, Ms. Yamanaka participated in researching and writing a major chapter in a book on the subject of universal application of waterfront development, published in Japan in September 2005. Ms. Yamanaka is a Japanese citizen, originally from Yokohama, Japan, and has lived in the Washington, D.C. area since 1994. She holds a Bachelor's Degree from Pennsylvania State University and a Master's Degree from Georgetown University Graduate School.
